Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety and satisfaction of campers and staff during aquatic activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, utilizing prevention, education, intervention, and risk management skills in aquatic environments. Key duties include constant surveillance, immediate emergency response, providing emergency care, enforcing camp rules, and maintaining aquatic equipment.
Candidates must possess the national lifeguard certification and be certified in first aid and cpr (Adult, child, infant) with an aed, or be prepared to obtain these certifications. Required experience includes working with youth aged 11 to 17, strong group facilitation skills, and positive behavior management competencies, with fluency in french being a requirement.
