Overview
Provide clinical education services to HealthLink BC staff in a virtual service delivery environment. Assess, design, develop, implement, and evaluate clinical education activities using educational/curriculum theory and evidence-based nursing practice. Support the 24/7 virtual health center with real-time clinical instruction, coaching, and telehealth best-practice role modeling. Collaborate to assess practice concerns and develop individual learning plans for nurses. Assess nurse work (including documentation and care services) and provide feedback/coaching to ensure compliance with telehealth standards and clinical practice guidelines. Design, develop, implement, and evaluate approved nursing education programs (orientation, continuing education, and clinical systems training). Provide guidance on clinical and cloud-based virtual health centre systems functions, usage, and best practices (e.g., PHR and Omni-Channel solutions). Develop, review, and modify learning resources and clinical practice reference documents. Facilitate learning through coaching and serving as a clinical resource; consult community experts; evaluate standards; develop/present new or revised standards and educational sessions. Participate in quality improvement and risk management by evaluating education program effectiveness and analyzing learning outcomes. Act as a clinical education resource person in group initiatives and provide written/verbal reports. Provide consultation to staff on professional development and clinical education. Contribute to staff performance evaluations and yearly performance planning. Act as a preceptor to new hires when needed and support preceptor assignments and educational events. Support approved nursing and interdisciplinary research activities to enhance clinical education effectiveness. Provide recommendations for recruitment/retention and continuing education initiatives. Maintain clinical competency and call-taking eligibility as determined by Nursing Services management team and participate in call analysis meetings. Evaluate educational components by developing tools to collect data and collaborating to measure educational outcomes. Coordinate student placements and preceptor assignments for telehealth practice education. Perform other related duties as assigned
