Overview
Carry out pre-planned lessons and life skills activities for students with unique needs. Provide therapy follow-up support and engage students in home learning activities and virtual programming. Collaborate with therapists, a home learning support teacher, parents, and the Special Education Coordinator. Model a Christian walk as a safe, trusted, and supportive adult. Foster student independence by scaffolding tasks. Advocate for inclusion within the home or community according to students' IEPs. Guide students to develop self-advocacy skills for their learning preferences and personal needs. Provide unstructured social-emotional and self-regulation support during transitions and break-times. Implement specific interventions and supports mandated by the IEP and School-Based Team (SBT). Assist with preparing lesson materials and adaptations related to identified student needs (as guided by the Teacher or Inclusive Education Coordinator). Supervise learning routines following the direction of the parent. Attend IEP meetings and provide professional observations and data to inform goals and desired outcomes. Gather evidence of student progress to assist teachers with assessment and IEP progress reports. Maintain documentation including logs and data collection for students with behavior plans or specialized requirements. Pursue professional growth in specialized areas and pedagogical frameworks such as UDL. Conduct regular self-assessments and maintain a portfolio of evidence of personal and professional growth. Maintain high standards of Christian conduct during and outside of school hours
