Overview
Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments. Teach assigned subject areas and include required subject matter/skills in course outlines. Direct student learning in a positive, supportive environment. Be available to students during scheduled classroom hours to discuss progress and learning issues. Conduct evaluations/appraisals and keep students informed of progress. Submit grades in a timely manner and maintain required student records. Develop and write curriculum as required. Instruct and certify mariners in ROC-M, Marine Emergency Duties A1/A2/A3, SVOP, SEN 1A, and related Transport Canada preparation for Master and Mate classes. Work within College educational policies and contribute to education/strategic plan goals. Advise training and administrative stakeholders on ordering needs for books, supplies, and equipment. Advise appropriate parties of health and safety concerns and assist in rectifying problems. Maintain continuous professional development of required competencies and qualifications. Participate in College committees and other College-wide activities as appropriate. Undertake other related duties as assigned when course load permits
