Overview
Provide library services for Grades K-6 as a teacher librarian (0.50 FTE temporary position).. Advocate and facilitate learning opportunities that improve instruction and assessment.. Develop students' critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creative skills.. Troubleshoot and support classroom teachers with minor technological hardware component problems.. Promote and foster literacy to empower lifelong learners and support evidence-based arguments.. Create and implement opportunities that foster digital citizenship so students learn to ethically and effectively acquire, evaluate, analyze, synthesize, create, and share information for authentic purposes.. Select, acquire, organize, and purchase print and electronic resources, including onsite and remote access.. Organize, maintain, evaluate, select, order, and provide print, digital, and non-print materials to improve student learning, engagement, Aboriginal connections, and curriculum.. Cultivate personalized, participatory, and experiential learning opportunities (e.g., author visits, makerspace, coding).. Manage and operate the Follett Automated Library System.. Ensure compliance with copyright and site licensing.. Provide leadership and guidance to library clerks and library substitutes as needed.. Collaborate with the school community with high communication, flexibility, and collaboration; perform other duties as assigned.
