Honour Secondary School (HSS) is an independent secondary school in Surrey serving youth in Grades 10–12 who benefit from an alternative educational setting. The Teacher will work with school staff and lead the academic and curriculum implementation for our students. Working in collaboration with the Principal, the Teacher will develop curriculum for Grades 10-12 that meets or exceeds Ministry of Education standards and guidelines. They will deliver the curriculum in innovative ways that includes creative community-based learning activities for a specialized student population. In collaboration with the program leadership and Principal, the Teacher will establish and maintain a safe and nurturing environment for staff and students and support the supervision of staff and volunteers.
The Teacher is responsible for maintaining proper program records, including report cards, providing program evaluation input, and supporting the team with inspection and audit requirements. In accordance with the Independent School Act, the teacher will create, and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and communicate these to the Ministry of Education.
