The Course Coordinator is responsible for overseeing seminar, tutorial, and lab sections while coordinating the activities of teaching assistants and lab demonstrators. They also assist in the preparation of marking schemes and manage the grading of course assignments and examinations.

Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $23.30 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026) Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $36.67 per hour. (Rate effective September 1, 2026)
Reporting to the Department Chair or Course Instructor, the duties and responsibilities of the Course Coordinator will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. These include overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course; coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them; assisting in the preparation of marking schemes and coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams; and any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor.
A four-year Honours B.A., or equivalent, in Labour with a minimum 75% average in Labour courses. Evidence of successful previous university-level teaching assistant experience or equivalent. Demonstrated strong organizational and effective communication skills including the ability to respond quickly and clearly to student inquiries, coordinate activities of teaching assistants, manage course materials and grading in Brightspace, work well with course instructor, and meet appropriate deadlines.
