Shift: Shifts vary and include weekdays, evenings, and weekends

$21.97 per hour

Reports To: Centre Manager

Nature & Scope

Our state- of-the-art centres of community offer a range of health, fitness, and aquatics programs for individuals and families.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Youth Programs Leader will lead participants through Home Alone and Babysitting courses. This position facilitates engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for youth, supporting participants through the learning components.

Major Responsibilities- in this position, you will

  • Create a warm, welcoming, and safe group environment.
  • Maintain a strengths-based approach that inspires participants to engage in learning
  • Adapt instructional techniques to meet diverse learning styles and participant needs
  • Facilitate interactive learning experiences that reflect best practices in youth education and leadership development
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and guidance to support participant development
  • Organization of data for evaluation of program
  • Ensure the safety of all members, participants, staff, and property by following YMCA standards/ policies/ procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification-you bring

  • Completion of the Youth Leader Development Program (Youth Leader certificate valid within 3 years) required
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C required
  • Experience working with youth
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
