About the role

The School Age Care Worker will facilitate activities for children ages JK-5 and ensure a safe, clean, and orderly environment. They are responsible for following licensing regulations, maintaining positive communication with parents, and supervising children during program hours.

We are looking for an experienced School Age Care Worker to join our Wentworth Campus.

This position will work within the school age care program and facilitate activities for children ages JK-5, predominantly in JK.

The ideal candidates will be passionate and committed educators who can demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life.

It is a Temporary Contract position from September 8, 2026 to June 11, 2027 with the possibility of continuing in the future.

This position reports directly to the Director of External Programs.

Available shifts:

Junior Kindergarten Room (20 hrs/week) when school is in

Session

Monday to Friday 12:45-4:00pm for JK and 4:00-4:45pm for K-5. Early Childhood Education required Eligible for benefits

Responsibilities

Follow the licensing regulations and the School Age Care Handbook Interact directly with the children and staff members Assist with the planning and set up of the School Age Care program to ensure that the children have a variety of activities to choose from Establish and maintain positive communication with parents Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean environment, including all activity areas Ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and Collingwood requirements Release children only to those authorized by parent/guardian Maintain confidentiality of all information related to Collingwood School, the children, their families, and staff Maintain regular attendance, punctuality and professionalism at all times Ensure fire, earthquake and wildlife sighting drills are up to date Required qualifications: A valid Early Childhood Education Diploma/Certificate A valid First Aid certificate (Standard First Aid is preferred) Accountability, maturity and a high level of responsibility Minimum 2 years of experience working with children in a school or child care setting. Excellent management, organizational, interpersonal and relationship skills Creative flexibility and ability to work in a student-centered environment Ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the community Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada Our “Must Haves” Respect, dignity and inclusion for all members of the community Collaborative mind-set and courageous approach to adversity Demonstrated communications skills (oral and written) Creative “out-of-the-box” thinker Flexible and adaptable and embraces change Proven work ethic with utmost integrity Enthusiasm, eagerness and genuine interest in all aspects of the school’s success Self-awareness, with a desire for constant self-improvement (goal-oriented) We offer professional development opportunities, competitive salaries, health and wellness initiatives, along with one of the most beautiful locations in Canada to work! Requirements
