The ECE Assistant provides care and supervision for children at the Sexqeltqin Early Learning Centre. Responsibilities include developing curriculum aligned with organizational goals and maintaining positive relationships with families and team members.
The Adams Lake Indian Band is looking for an Early Childhood Educator Assistant to support leave coverage. The ECEA will work under the direction of the Early Learning Coordinator to offer assistance with the care of the children in Sexqeltqin Early Learning Centre. We are currently seeking team members who are committed to being culturally aware, intentional, collaborative, and reflective in their work, and are enthusiastic about on-going professional development.
Those normally associated with childcare duties that may involve lifting and carrying children and equipment and may spend time sitting on the floor or on child sized furniture. The ECEA will be expected to clean and maintain equipment and facilities and may move throughout the community with children. The ECEA may come in contact with children who are ill and/or contagious and must take precautions to ensure the health and safety of all children, parents and employees.
Working in a busy and occasionally noisy environment. They will also be working outdoors daily in all weather conditions.
Bona fide job requirements: Current Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector clearance, with results acceptable to ALIB
Terms of employment: Fulltime Term 1 year Position with the possibility of an extension dependent on budget
Wage offered will be dependent on education and experience, varying between $21 - $24 per hour.
***Please note that these hourly rates are representative of the BC Wage Enhancement, and no other top-ups are available. Hours per week: up to 75 hours biweekly (max 37.5 hrs./week)
