<p>Alcuin College invites applications from creative, innovative and qualified French teachers. Candidates should have a sound knowledge and understanding of the BC curriculum and an inquiry approach to teaching and learning, the ability to provide a rich and varied, experiential learning programme to students, as well as an openness to collaborate with colleagues. <br></br></p><p> Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:<br></br> Developing a learning environment that promotes communication and collaboration, builds positive relationships, fosters an ethic of care and values the contributions of all learners;<br></br> Designing and implementing engaging, student-centered learning opportunities that support inquiry and encourage creativity and innovation;<br></br> Differentiating learning opportunities and assessment practices to meet the needs of individual learners;<br></br> Monitoring student learning through a variety of assessment tools and strategies<br></br> Communicating positively and proactively with parents;<br></br> Participating in collaborative professional development and school-wide functions;<br></br> Embracing the school’s mission and educational philosophy. <br></br> <br></br> Key attributes:<br></br> Curiousity, creativity, and enthusiasm to be a part of a growing school<br></br> Flexibility to integrate new practices<br></br> Confidence to take risks<br></br> Openness to feedback<br></br> Team-oriented and collaborative<br></br> Sense of humour<br></br> Love of children<br></br> Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills<br></br> Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all members of the school community<br></br> <br></br> Essential qualifications: <br></br> Canadian residency and eligible to work in B.C.<br></br> Certification from the Teacher Regulation Branch (B.C.)</p><p>Scheduling:<br></br>Lessons will run three times per week for two hours per day.</p><p><br></br></p>

Requirements

Canadian residency and eligible to work in British Columbia.

Certification from the Teacher Regulation Branch (B.C.).

Sound knowledge and understanding of the BC curriculum.
