<p><strong>Grade 6/7 Class Teacher </strong></p><p><strong>Permanent, Full-time 1.0FTE (2026/27 School Year)</strong></p><p>Okanagan Waldorf School is seeking a creative, inspired grade 6/7 teacher who loves the outdoors.

Our grades teachers serve a diverse population of children in an atmosphere that encourages active inquiry and fosters individual growth, promoting respect for self, others, and the world in which they live. </p><p>The ideal candidate will hold a Waldorf Certificate, valid through the BC Teachers Regulation Branch or a BC Teaching certificate and is motivated to learn more and study curriculum methods inspired by the educational pedagogy of Waldorf Education.

Applicants that have completed their Waldorf Grades Teacher Training from an AWSNA certified training facility and have had 3-5 years minimum of previous class teaching experience are highly preferred.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated strong classroom management skills, a deep grounding in the development of the young child, the ability to build professional relationships with parents, faculty, and staff, and will enthusiastically join the collaborative work of our school. </p><p><strong>REQUIREMENTS </strong></p><ul><li>3 – 5 years minimum of previous class teaching in a Waldorf Grades program </li><li>Have obtained or have the ability to obtain Certification under the BC Teachers Regulation Branch </li><li>Clear Criminal Record </li><li>A love for and willingness to work daily in a rural forest and farm setting, walking in uneven terrain. </li><li>Be able and willing to lift up to 75 lbs </li></ul><strong>PREFERRED </strong><ul><li>Completion of, or enrollment in, an AWSNA approved Waldorf GradesTeacher Training program </li><li>Current first aid or must be willing to obtain </li></ul><strong>SALARY </strong><p>$50,000 to $59,000/year prorated to FTE based on experience and credentials</p><p>Please send your resume, cover letter, current applicable certificates/licenses, and references to OWS Hiring Committee: <a></a><strong> </strong></p><p>OWS is a Group 1 BC Independent school that offers competitive wages, a benefits program and a nourishing work environment with a supportive and proactive communication policy.

Requirements

3–5 years minimum of previous class teaching in a Waldorf Grades program.

Waldorf Certificate valid through the BC Teachers Regulation Branch or a BC Teaching certificate (or ability to obtain certification under the BC Teachers Regulation Branch).

Clear Criminal Record.

Willingness to work daily in a rural forest and farm setting, including walking in uneven terrain.

Ability and willingness to lift up to 75 lbs.

Preferred

Completion of, or enrollment in, an AWSNA approved Waldorf Grades Teacher Training program.

Preferred: Current first aid or willingness to obtain first aid
