The Wellness Program Facilitator will work from a community cultural development perspective to build and maintain working relationships with children, youth and families. The Wellness Program Facilitator will partner with community leadership and community organizations to deliver activities aimed at children and youth in our Care Homes. The Wellness Program Facilitator will work alongside our partners in service to improve the experiences of children, Elders and families. · 2-3 years of direct experience working with children, youth and families. · Must be willing to regularly travel to Southeast communities. · Training and/or professional experience working in child development. · Knowledge and experience working with our Southeast First Nations communities. · Personal experience successfully supporting the wholistic wellness of children, young people and families. · Strong inter-personal communication skills and able to work as a team. · Personable and approachable, with the capacity to build effective working relationships. · Ability to apply a strengths-based approach to working with people with diverse life experiences. · Ability to plan and facilitate cultural relevant programming/activities. · Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of First Nations perspectives, culture, and philosophies. · Well-developed documentation skills. · Must maintain a high level of confidentiality. · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. · Must be resourceful with a high attention to detail. · Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage multiple priorities. · Satisfactory child and adult abuse registry checks, criminal record check with vulnerable sector search and PCC, required. · Valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle with a satisfactory driver abstract, required. · Various hours based on the needs of children and youth – days, evenings and weekends. · This position includes regularly scheduled travel to First Nations communities. · Must be able to travel to the communities as required by car, boat and plane. · Ability of speak Anishinaabe is an asset.
