<p><strong>Educational</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Assistant</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Opportunity</strong></p><p>Traditional Learning Academy is currently recruiting Educational Assistants: Our mission is to partner with parents and students to support quality learning opportunities at home.

This is an excellent opportunity where you will work one-on-one or in small classroom groups with our students.

Our students currently receive EA support in person and online. </p><p>As an Educational Assistant you will be part of a talented multidisciplinary team working with children, families and school staff.

We have hundreds of students from all over the province, each one working on individualized programs in a variety of learning environments. . </p><p>This position is for September- June and the hourly wage is dependent upon qualifications and experience. </p><p>Qualifications: </p><ul><li>A certificate from a recognized post-secondary college such as a Special Education Teaching Assistant or equivalent post-secondary studies </li><li>Background in supporting students with Disabilities and Diverse learning needs is required </li><li>Applicants must be dedicated to inclusive education and committed to learning new skills in a team-based environment. </li><li>Strong written and oral English communication skills. </li><li>Must be computer literate and knowledgeable about gmail, google drive and proficient in video conferencing tools. </li><li>A valid Ministry of Justice criminal record check is required as part of the hiring process. </li></ul>Classroom-based EAs work with small groups within the classrooms under the direct supervision of a TLA teacher.

All supports are in-class, and range from academic support and behavioural prompting to social and executive functioning support.

Students will be engaged in project-based learning in our inclusive multi-grade classrooms. <p>Online/In Person EAs collaborate with TLA teachers and the student's family to provide individualized one-to-one support depending on the students program. </p><p>We are currently hiring EAs for the following positions: 1) Classroom - Based EAs </p><ul><li>Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday Elementary Student Support (8:45- 3:15) (Cloverdale, BC) </li><li>Mondays Humanities Grade 7-9 (8:45- 3:15) (Cloverdale, BC) </li><li>In Person EAs in the following areas </li><li>Nanaimo </li></ul>Applicants should send a resume via email to our Director of Inclusive Education Morven Eakin - <a></a><p>The resume should detail education and work experience and include a cover letter, copy of certificate (if applicable) and two references. </p>

Requirements
