About the role

Deliver on-snow training sessions and technical coaching to athletes in alignment with program objectives and LTAD principles. Support competition preparation, including course inspection and race-day coaching, while ensuring athlete safety.

About the Role

We are seeking motivated and skilled Alpine Coaches to support the delivery of our Alpine Ski Racing Program. This role focuses on day-to-day athlete coaching, training execution, and competition support, working closely with the Alpine Head Coach to ensure consistent, high-quality program delivery. This position is ideal for coaches who are passionate about athlete development, enjoy working in a team environment, and are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and performance-driven culture. Key Responsibilities Athlete Development & Coaching Deliver on-snow training sessions in alignment with program objectives and LTAD principles. Provide technical coaching, feedback, and skill progression support to athletes. Assist with video analysis and performance feedback where appropriate. Ensure athlete safety and well-being during all training activities. Training & Competition Support Support athlete preparation for competitions, including warm-ups, course inspection, and race-day coaching. Assist with gate training, course setting, and equipment management. Contribute to evaluating athlete performance and identifying development opportunities. Program Delivery Execute training plans developed by the Head Coach. Maintain consistency in coaching standards, safety protocols, and athlete expectations. Adapt sessions based on weather, conditions, and athlete needs. Team Collaboration Work closely with the Head Coach and coaching team to ensure alignment and continuity. Participate in team meetings, training camps, and professional development opportunities. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. Communication & Administration Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and coaching staff. Assist with attendance tracking, logistics, and basic program administration. Represent the club professionally at training sessions, events, and competitions.

Requirements

Qualifications

Development level certifications Current SafeSport certification (or ability to obtain before season start). First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain). 1–3 years of coaching or instructing experience in a sport environment is preferred. Familiarity with LTAD principles and Alpine race environments is an asset. What You Bring A strong technical foundation in skiing and a passion for coaching. A positive, professional, and athlete-centered approach. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Adaptability in dynamic training and competition environments. Commitment to safety, development, and continuous improvement. Working Conditions On-snow coaching in variable winter conditions. Evening, weekend, and holiday work during the ski season. Travel within the province for competitions and camps. Physically active role requiring sustained outdoor engagement.
