Job description

Under the clinical supervision of a psychologist, the Infant Parent Specialist provides assessment, intervention, and consultation that is family-centered, strength-based, and focused on parent-child interactions and attachment. Interventions include home visits, community visits, assessments, workshops, groups, and collaborative supports to parents. Coordination and collaboration with other services within the community are an important part of the service.

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Psychology or related area 2.
  • Extensive experience in one or more of the following areas: infant and toddler development, parent counseling, developmental disabilities, addictions 3.
  • Sound knowledge of community resources for infants, toddlers and parents 4.
  • Demonstrated clinical skills 5.
  • Computer skills, minimally word processing (Microsoft Word) 6.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and demonstrated commitment to team functioning 7.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to balance multiple tasks 8.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle 9.
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule including some evenings and weekends 10.
  • Ability to safely lift and move some program materials and furnishings when providing workshops within the community 11.
  • Willingness to participate in a criminal reference screening process 12.
  • Fluency in a second language(s) other than English preferred 13.
  • Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)
