<p>School District #49 (Central Coast) </p><p>Posting #T349-26/27 </p><p>July 10, 2026 </p><p><strong>Shearwater</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Elementary</strong><strong> </strong><strong>School</strong></p><p><strong>Continuing</strong><strong> </strong><strong>(0.2</strong><strong> </strong><strong>FTE)</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Teaching</strong><strong> </strong><strong>Position</strong></p><p><strong>September</strong><strong> </strong><strong>1,</strong><strong> </strong><strong>2026</strong><strong> </strong></p><p><strong><i>Internal/External</i></strong><strong><i> </i></strong></p><p>The position may include other assigned duties within the school and starts September 1, 2026. </p><p>Job Competencies: </p><ul><li>Experience teaching in a multi-grade setting; </li><li>Cognizant of the outcomes and evaluation processes outlined in the provincial IRP's; </li><li>Experience planning with teachers and educational assistants; </li><li>Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, emotional learning difficulties' </li><li>Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques; </li><li>Strong classroom management skills and excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaborative problem solving skills; </li><li>Ability to relate well with students, parents and staff members; </li><li>The ability to apply knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of individual and small group instruction; </li><li>The ability to apply knowledge of current effective assessment and instructional practices; </li><li>The ability to adapt curriculum to meet the varying rates, patterns and needs of all students; </li><li>The ability to plan instructional goals and designate outcomes for all students and to clearly communicate those to learners; </li><li>The desire and ability to work alongside teacher colleagues when appropriate and contribute collaboratively as a team member. </li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Member of the BC College of Teachers; </li><li>Be willing to submit to a local criminal record check. </li></ul>Preference will be given to candidates who have: <ul><li>Experience in teaching First Nations students at the elementary and secondary levels. </li></ul>The annual salary range for this position is $15,771 to $25,247.<p><b><i>This position is eligible for a pre-employment certified teacher signing bonus of $3,000. This is a taxable payment paid to you upon your commencement of employment with School District 49 (Central Coast).
