Job Description

The incumbent plays a key role in supporting students and job seekers as they prepare to enter or re-enter the labour market by providing individualized employment and career development services. This position involves assessing participant needs, developing tailored Employment Action Plans, and offering targeted coaching designed to enhance employability, confidence, and workplace readiness. The role also contributes to career programming by facilitating workshops, maintaining employment resources, and guiding individuals through job search strategies, resume development, and interview preparation. In addition, the incumbent collaborates closely with internal partners and community organizations to support smooth transitions to employment and service learning, helping participants strengthen their skills, expand their networks, and build meaningful workplace competencies.

  • Experience: Up to and including 3 years Experience providing employment counselling or job coaching, including supporting individuals with job search strategies, resume and cover letter development, and interview preparation. Background in career development programming, such as designing and delivering workshops or training sessions focused on employability and workplace readiness. Experience supporting Indigenous learners using culturally responsive, strengths-based approaches informed by Truth and Reconciliation principles, including adapting job search strategies, career planning, and employment readiness supports to reflect diverse needs and holistic perspectives Strong client service and interpersonal communication skills to support students in employment and career development. Training in career counselling or employment coaching strategies, including resume development, interview preparation, and job search techniques. Experience delivering workshops or group facilitation sessions focused on employability and workplace readiness.
