<p></p> <p><strong> 0.400 FTE K-5 Music Teacher at </strong></p><p> </p><p><strong> Armstrong Elementary School</strong><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p><b> This is a temporary assignment effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 or to return of teacher to full contractual FTE whichever comes first. </b></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> The schedule will be determined in consultation with the principal.</p><p> </p><p><u> Qualifications: </u></p><p> </p><ul> <li> Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent; </li> <li> Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch; </li> <li> Orff levels, Kodaly levels or equivalent coursework.</li></ul><p> </p><p><u> Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes: </u></p><p> </p><ul> <li> successful experience in Elementary Music instruction; </li> <li> excellent classroom management skills; </li> <li> evidence of excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills in working with staff, students and parents; </li> <li> demonstrated ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies and assessment methods; </li> <li> working knowledge of the renewed curriculum for the Fine Arts; </li> <li> commitment to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning; </li> <li> ability to teach ukulele, recorder, guitar, orff, dance and choir; </li> <li> demonstrated ability to work collegially as part of a school staff; </li> <li> comfortable planning and executing school-wide concerts and events; </li> <li> ability to relate effectively to all elementary school students; </li> <li> ability to promote support for a school’s Music program; </li> <li> successful recent experience working with students with special needs; </li> <li> current knowledge of and interest in applications of computer technology in the Music classroom.</li></ul><p> </p><p> Questions regarding this position may be directed to Megan Weir Principal, Armstrong Elementary at (250) 546-8778 or Michelle Honcoop, <a></a>at <a></a></p><p></p><p>Please submit resume with full supporting documents using the Apply Online button below.
