Job description
- <p>Applications are invited from teachers with </p><p><strong><u>BC</u></strong><strong><u> Certification</u></strong> for the following teaching position: </p><p><strong>Fort Rupert Elementary School, Port Hardy, BC </strong></p><p>0.10 FTE Continuing – Prep Coverage </p><p>(may be combined with JP15 and/or JP21) </p><p><u>Commencing: September 1, 2026</u> </p><p>The successful candidate will have the following qualifications: </p><ul><li>elementary teaching experience; </li><li>strong classroom management skills; </li><li>the ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies; </li><li>strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills to communicate with students, staff, and parents in a team oriented approach to teaching and learning; </li><li>strong formative assessment practices; </li><li>ability to communicate student learning through the use of digital portfolio assessment and three way conferencing; </li><li>experience with RTI (Response to Intervention) systems; </li><li>ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning; </li><li>strong interest in innovation and inquiry; and </li><li>ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices. </li></ul><div>The starting annual salary for a full-time School Teacher position ranges from $66,299 to $116,016, with placement in the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
