Job description
Glenlyon Norfolk School (GNS) is an independent JK to Grade 12 International Baccalaureate and Round Square day and boarding school located on two campuses in Victoria, BC, Canada. At GNS, we provide an exceptional educational experience for students from age three to Grade 12, emphasizing robust academics, healthy social and emotional development, and inquiry-based, student-centred learning within a supportive community. What You’ll Bring You will hold a valid BC teaching certificate and bring experience teaching Social Studies (Individuals & Societies) at the middle and/or senior school level. Experience teaching Economics would be considered a strong asset. IB training and experience within the MYP and/or DP framework are preferred, though not required. Candidates with experience in and/or a willingness to support our debate co-curricular program will also be viewed favourably.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in inquiry-based and project-based learning, with the ability to design engaging, relevant, and intellectually challenging learning experiences that foster critical thinking, global mindedness, and student agency. You will bring creativity, curiosity, and innovation to your practice, alongside a reflective mindset and commitment to continuous professional growth. Additionally, you will bring a thoughtful and responsive approach to differentiating your instruction to support the diverse learning needs of all students, along with a genuine commitment to educating the whole student.
