We are looking for folks who are energetic, active, responsible, and caring! Flexible shifts available during the week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 7:30am-6:00pm

- Reporting to the Child Care Manager the On Call Child Care Substitute is a key member of the Child Care team, who will:
- Assist in leading high quality program planning, incorporating the Y’s values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Caring, and Inclusiveness
- Assist in maintaining safety and supervision in accordance with provincial licensing requirements and standards
- Build healthy relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Actively interacts with children ages 1-12 as a play partner and homework helper
- Supports implementation of play based educational programming, including interactive play, literacy, mathematics, science, building, drama, games, team building, daily physical activity, and sports
- Participate in YMCA of Southern Interior BC community initiatives
We’d love to hear from people with
- Must be 19 years of age (as per provincial licensing standards) or hold provincial certification as an ECE Assistant
- Minimum 20 hours of professional development relating to children’s health, nutrition, safety, development and/or guidance (Responsible Adult Certificate)
- Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR level B or C
- ECE-A/ECE/ Infant/Toddler Certificate (is an asset)
- Reliable Transportation
- Valid class 4 operator’s license (is an asset)
