  • Branch: BC Ministry of Education</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Classroom teaching, student teaching, internship, or full-time teaching experience within a public or private school system.</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Experience in managing confidential situations and materials</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered</li> </ul> <p style="text-align: left;"><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p> <ul> <li style="text-align: left;">Valid First Aid Certification with CPR Level B or C endorsement</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Acceptable criminal record check [with Vulnerable Sector Search]</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Maintains a high level of confidentiality and uses discretion on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation.</li> </ul> <p style="text-align: left;"><strong>JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILTIES</strong></p> <ul> <li style="text-align: left;">Follows Integrated Resource Package (IRP) to meet BC academic standards</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Follows enrolling Teacher&rsquo;s TOC lesson plans, or is prepared if there is no lesson plan available that willmeet the learning outcomes outlined in the IRP</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Provides a classroom that is a safe learning environment</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Familiarity with school-wide discipline program</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and to motivate students learning</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Cooperates in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom activities</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Cooperates in team building and teamwork with the principal and other staff</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Maintains professional development by taking courses and participating in workshops</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the School policies, standards, governing regulations and procedures, as directed by the School Board</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Maintains confidentiality on all matters relating to the affairs of the Westbank First Nation and the School</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position, and as assigned by the Principal</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Westbank First Nation policies, standards, and procedures</li> </ul> <p style="text-align: left;"><strong>KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li style="text-align: left;">Good communication skills (oral and written)</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Integrity (Honesty, Trustworthy, Professional etc.)</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Ability to be open-minded and tolerant</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Ability to develop and deliver curriculum</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Knowledge of current trends in computer technology</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Lifestyle consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Organized with excellent planning and development skills</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Experience working within a First Nation environment</li> <li style="text-align: left;">Knowledge of WFN Community Services programs, services and issues</li> </ul> <p style="text-align: left;">The median hourly wage for this position is $42.69</p> <p>To learn more about Westbank First Nation please visit our website at <a href="https://www.wfn.ca" target="_blank" rel="noopener">https://www.wfn.ca</a>.</p> <p>All applications must be submitted through our <a href="https://recruiting.ultipro.ca/WES5002WFN/JobBoard/bda6c545-2c72-4983-8cf5-53b0bd43a40d/?q=&amp;o=postedDateDesc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Employment Opportunities</a> page.
