The School District enrolls over 25,000 students (including approximately 3,200 students who self-identify as having First Nations, Metis, and/or Inuit ancestry from Canada).

Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country.

There are a total of 50 school sites with 32 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle schools, 5 Secondary Schools, 3 Learning Centres, an Alternate Education School, and an Online Learning School (K-12).

We believe equity empowers each learner to thrive, holistically.</p><p> <br></br></p><p><strong>CLERICAL RELIEF POSITIONS</strong></p><p><strong>AVAILABILITY: </strong>On-Call / Relief (Up 35 hours per week)</p><p><strong>WAGE RATE</strong>: $24.68 - $26.74 per hour</p><p>Plus: 5% of bi-weekly earnings in lieu of vacation and 5% of straight time earnings in each pay period in lieu of statutory holidays.

After successfully completing a probationary period and attaining seniority, relief staff working on call will receive 10% in lieu of benefits and paid leaves when working 17.5 hours or more per week. </p><p> <strong>DURATION: </strong>10 Month (September to June)</p><p>This position offers flexible hours and ample time off including summer and winter/spring breaks.</p><p>Clerical relief will have the opportunity to apply internally on part-time and full-time opportunities<strong>.</strong> </p><p><strong>JOIN US TODAY:</strong> Become part of a team that's shaping young lives and strengthening our communities!

If you’re looking for stability, growth, and a chance to make a real difference, this could be a great fit.</p><p><strong> POSITION SUMMARY:</strong></p><ul> <li>Process and circulate resources in the library, take inventory, perform clerical/receptionist and word processing duties and monitor students.</li> <li>Accurately and efficiently utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database and communications software.</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ul> <li>Grade 12 and a six month post-secondary program in Office/Business Administration;</li> <li>One (1) year recent successful experience in an office administration position; </li> <li>Bookkeeping and accounting experience is an asset;</li> <li>Minimum net keyboarding speed 50 wpm (copy of certified supervised typing test required);</li> <li>Proven intermediate to advanced computer skills to accurately and efficiently utilize word processing, spreadsheet, database and communications software;</li> <li>Ability to organize and prioritize a wide range of duties effectively and efficiently, and to work accurately under pressure at a high level of quality with constant disruptions;</li> <li>Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, employees, and the public;</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work at the level of independence and with the degree of initiative appropriate to the position.</li> </ul><p>Shortlisted candidates will be required to successfully pass a clerical assessment.</p><p><strong>APPLY ONLINE:</strong> Qualified candidates are invited to apply with a cover letter and resume outlining relevant background and work experience, three (3) professional references, copy of post-secondary certification transcripts/diploma, copy of grade 12 transcripts/diploma and copy of certified supervised typing test (50 WPM net required).</p><p><br></br></p>

Requirements

Grade 12 and a six month post-secondary program in Office/Business Administration.

One year recent experience in office administration.

Bookkeeping and accounting experience is an asset.

Minimum net keyboarding speed of 50 wpm.

Proven intermediate to advanced computer skills.

Ability to organize and prioritize duties effectively.
