The ideal candidate will support and enhance the educational experience of students in our French immersion program.

Responsibilities include providing individualized instruction, developing specialized learning materials, and collaborating with classroom teachers to address diverse student needs.

The candidate must be fluent in French, possess a valid teaching certification, and have experience in language immersion education.

Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a passion for fostering bilingualism in students are essential.

Join us in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for our students!</p> <p><strong>POSTING DETAILS</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Position – </strong>French Immersion Teacher</li> <li><strong>Employment</strong> - Permanent (continuing to District)<br></br><br></br></li> </ul> <p><strong>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Education (Elementary / Middle / Secondary) degree, or equivalent training.</li> <li>A valid Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate, or in progress</li> <li>Courses at the 300/400 level equal to 18 credits in French</li> <li>Two years of successful teaching experience in regular programs</li> <li>A Diploma in Special Education or equivalent with 30 credits of course work in the following areas:</li> <ul> <li>learning disabilities,</li> <li>behavior difficulties,</li> <li>intellectual disabilities and assessment,</li> <li>Autism Spectrum Disorder,</li> <li>Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder</li> </ul> <li>Demonstrated fluency and facility (both oral and written) in English and the second language</li> <li>Ability to understand and effectively carry out general oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the explanation and exchange of information.</li> <li>Ability to determine, judge and select an appropriate course of action within limits of established methods and procedures.</li> </ul> <p><strong>For your application to be considered, all required documents must be included:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Resume</li> <li>Cover Letter (please elaborate on your experience and teachable areas)</li> <li>A copy of your transcript (official or unofficial) for your program</li> <li>A copy of the credential received after completing your teaching program</li> <li>A copy of your Certificate of Qualification (from the TRB to teach in BC)</li> <li>Email addresses for a minimum of three references (ideally, administrators from your most recent teaching role)<br></br><br></br></li></ul><p>We thank you for your interest in the Langley School District however, only those persons selected for an interview will be contacted.</p><ul> </ul> <p><strong>PLEASE NOTE</strong></p> <ul> <li>The starting annual salary for this School Teacher position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.</li> <li>In accordance with the Criminal Record Review Act, successful applicants will be required to consent to a Criminal Record Check prior to employment. </li> </ul>

Requirements
